Hamilton’s 6th Annual Downtown Localicious Experience

Join The Downtown Hamilton Business Improvement Area for a culinary experience of a lifetime at the 6th Annual “Downtown Localicious Experience” from September 20th to October 6th, 2013.  This 17 day event showcases Local Chefs creating delectable lunch and dinner prix fixe menu items made with the best of the area’s bountiful harvest.  Downtown Restaurants called the “Delicious Dozen” participating in this year’s Localicious program will include Acclamation, Bistro Parisien, Boo’s Bistro, Capri Ristorante, Chagall’s at the Sheraton, Incognito, It’s A Food Thing, La Piazza Allegra, Radius, Rapscallion Rogue Eatery, Sláinte’s Irish Pub and Tailgate Charlie’s.
What better way to celebrate Hamilton than marrying delicious fresh, locally grown foods with art and entertainment at the Downtown Localicious Launch Party on Tuesday, SEPTEMBER 17th, 2013 from 6 -9pm at the Art Gallery of Hamilton’s Joey and Toby Tanenbaum Pavilion and outdoor sculpture garden. Guests will enjoy local samples from the Delicious Dozen, craft wines and beers, amidst local entertainment, art and music.  Proceeds from the Localicious Launch Party will go to the Art without Barriers program offering Summer Art Camp experiences to inner city children through the Art Gallery of Hamilton.  Tickets are $20 per person (plus HST) and are available from the BIA office.
The Downtown Hamilton BIA is pleased to partner with the Art Gallery of Hamilton 2013 BMO Financial Group World Film Festival which takes place from September 20th to September 29thcentered downtown with local viewings of world class films and other exciting activities. The Downtown Hamilton BIA, as part of a culinary theme at the festival is sponsoring the free film, Hungry for Change, September 21st, 2013, 4:00pm at the Hamilton Public Library.  In addition to viewing the film there will be a discussion moderated by Tanya Fraser, RHN, PTS, Owner of Total Balanced Health and Earthbound Organic Food Market, Nutritionist at The Green Smoothie Bar with panelists Janet Jacks, Founder, Goodness Me!, Chris Krucker, Manorun Farm, and Russ Ohrt, Backyard Harvest.
New this year, we are offering two special Dine Around Tours.  Enjoy a brief walk through downtown Hamilton sampling special menu items from three restaurants per tour.  The first tour will take place on Monday September 23rd from 6-8pm featuring Acclamation, Slainté’s Irish Pub, and Capri Ristorante.  The second tour will be on Monday September 30th from 6-8pm featuring La Piazza Allegra, Rapscallion Rogue Eatery and Incognito.  Tickets are $45 per person, per tour (plus HST).
