The Harrop Restaurant opened July 15, 1976 and was originally located at the Harrop Home, a century home in old Milton that Hedi purchased from the family. The art gallery was added in 1979. Throughout the last 45 years Hedi has created a successful business using her love and passion for art and people to keep her and The Gallery Upstairs a staple in the Milton community.
She is always happy to support local and international charity and non-profit organizations, and can be found at almost every major event in town.

In 2013, The Gallery Upstairs moved to 3 Mill Street in Milton, creating a plethora of new opportunities, including a beautiful, year-round garden space that houses various art pieces and handmade sculptures. On display inside are original works of art from local and international artists such as Robert Bateman, Tina Newlove, Fiona Hoop and Pat McGoey.

The Gallery Upstairs has become a local favourite for art lovers and continuously provides artists with a place to grow their reputation, showcase their art; as well as host art exhibitions and events to meet the artists. Offering unique treasures, special gifts, and an array of breath-taking artwork, there is something for everyone’s collection. With the belief that art comes in all forms, Hedi carries local artisan food and drinks, candles, spiritual jewellery, and many other local items to help support fellow business owners in the Halton Region and surrounding areas.
