Organized by the Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Saputo, the annual Taste of the Hills, held Feb. 2 at The Club at North Halton, was very well attended, very crowded with people enjoying hot food, wine, beer and desserts. Around 200 Chamber members, local politicians including the mayor, and other people, mingled and made contacts, but mostly savoured the samplings.
Mike noticed “Vision Travel was serving wine and talking about wine tours. Saputo offered cheese samples. La Vita had pasta dishes and Portuguese pastry. Latitude served oysters, duck salad and crème brulé. Chefs from The Club at North Halton were kept busy preparing prime rib, pork belly, smoked salmon and other meat creations.
“Mangia Bene Catering had pasta and a strawberry dessert. Orange Snail Brewery poured their beer.
“Other participants were Pita Pit, Boston Pizza, Glen Tavern and Carl’s Catering of Brampton.” Mike appreciated the full range of samples, up to appetizer size, saying they were varied and generally good.
