The Gift of Land: Living With Nature
By Gloria Hildebrandt
I’m excited to announce the publication of my memoir, the product of several years of dedicated work. Here’s a summary to get you interested – I hope!
A fascination with animals. A love for a piece of rural land. A complicated family. Gloria Hildebrandt was a child when her parents bought some unappreciated acres of scrubland in the country north of Georgetown, Ontario. Over several decades, her father nurtured the land back into a rich native forest with wetlands. After years of family conflicts and clashes, Gloria inherited the land and had it become a federally registered nature reserve, protected in perpetuity. The Gift of Land: Living With Nature is a memoir of dealing with wild plants and animals while enduring a difficult relationship with a domineering parent.
