Introducing Giant’s Rib Escarpment Education Network (GREEN)
Giant’s Rib Discovery Centre has been renamed Giant’s Rib Escarpment Education Network (GREEN). GREEN has also received a grant of $12,000 from Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation for several educational projects.
“The importance of the Escarpment goes far beyond its beauty,” says Burkhard Mausberg, CEO of Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation. “The protection of its rare species, habitats and water sources provides a healthy core for nature and animals to thrive in the region.” GREEN has been recognized nationally as a local biosphere committee for the Niagara Escarpment World Biosphere Reserve.
