Vehicles for the Niagara Escarpment

Mike and I (Gloria) went to the 40th Auto Show in Toronto, that’s still on at the Metro Convention Centre until Feb. 24. Here are some of the photos that Mike took, with a focus on green vehicles – for the most part.

Julie Lychak and Joel Felstein of Subaru with the sports lovers' 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek.
Steve Ross of Ford demonstrates a home charging station for their electric vehicles.
The Eco-Drive Showcase displayed vehicles that have fuel-efficient technologies.
Steve Dallas of Toronto, in the Eco-Drive Showcase with an electric car he built himself.
Mike likes vehicles that appeal to cyclists.

Gloria with her dream car: an Alfa Romeo

Opening the door to the Exotic Car showroom, which contained an Aston Martin that had photographers all over it, I saw in front of me, this 1961 Alfa Romea Giulietta Sprint Speciale. I’ve always fancied an Alfa Romeo, because I like the name and they look cute. This one costs $175,000 to $225,000, so I’ll have to save up a bit. It also might not be the best choice for getting through the snowy roads of the Escarpment. And I prefer it in navy blue. Otherwise, as Mike would say, it’s not bad.
