The Honourable Ross Romano, Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities with the government of Ontario, addressed those attending the third meeting in a series examining regional economic development in Ontario. This meeting, entitled Regional Collaboration in the GTHA, was held in Hamilton on Oct. 3, 2019.
Romano emphasized the importance of trades, saying that people are the greatest resource. Innovation and creative technology continue to be important. He observed that there are plenty of jobs without people to fill them, but also lots of people without jobs. He urged businesses and institutions to work together.
Other presenters were John Porter of BarterPay, Matthew J. Roorda with Smart Freight Centre, and Janet De Silva, head of Toronto Region Board of Trade.
